Translink has signed an agreement with the Washington Marine Group to build a third SeaBus to ferry passengers between Vancouver and the North Shore.
The new SeaBus will cost $25 million.
A date of July 24, 2009 has been set for the new vessel’s launch, but SeaBus frequency won’t increase until 2010 as the new SeaBus will initially fill in for each of the two existing SeaBuses while they undergo a year-long $15-million retrofit.

It certainly would be nice if they could find a way to exterior decks (to the front and back?). An unadulterated view of the inlet would be wonderful, and might even rival the Sydney ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. Vancouver may be a rainy place, but it’s not raining all the time!
